Police Chief Jeff Weaver Retires

The Sebastopol City Council honored Police Chief Jeff Weaver on his retirement at their October 17th meeting. 
Hired in Nov 1989 as a reserve police officer, he rose through the ranks, becoming a police officer in April, 1990; a Corporal in November, 1994; a Sergeant in July, 1997; a Lieutenant in January, 2002, and Chief in 2004.
He is the longest tenured Chief of Police in Sonoma County, over 27 years with the SPD, and in the top 3% of seniority of all Police Chiefs in California. 
City Manager Larry McLaughlin praised Chief Weaver for his leadership, open-mindedness and accessibility.
