Council Member Kathleen Shaffer
Council Member Kathleen Shaffer was elected in 2008. Her goal is to first serve the needs of the community, and she has been very active in working with the citizens and local organizations to accomplish this. She is a board member of the Sebastopol Area Senior Center, West County Community Services, a member of the Rotary Club of Sebastopol Sunrise and was recently appointed to the Sonoma County Commission on Human Rights.
Shaffer has helped lead the Sebastopol Entrepreneurs Project which will help local entrepreneurs start, grow and keep their businesses in Sebastopol. Having been a business owner, she will use her experience to help new business owners involved in the project. Recently, she served on the Palm Drive Health Care Foundation Board, and still collaborates on special projects. She earned a Masters of Science degree from the University of San Francisco. Her husband, Robert Green, is the current Planning Commission Chair.
