1/11: Sebastopol Assistant Fire Chief Mike Reeser 1956-2021

Assistant Fire Chief Mike Reeser unexpectedly passed away at work on January 9. Mike joined the Sebastopol Fire Department on January 1, 1979, 42 years with the department! Mike started as a volunteer firefighter, was promoted to Fire Captain in 1984, and then promoted to Assistant Fire Chief in 1988, under then Fire Chief Russ Shura. Mike actually began his volunteer fire experience back in 1969 as a radio dispatcher for the Twin Hills Fire Department (Gold Ridge FPD). He was a Fire Explorer for Twin Hills from 1972-1974. Mike and I went to school together at Analy High, with Mike graduating from Analy one year after me, in 1974. Mike was our backbone of our department, and truly our department's historian. He led many projects, including leading most of our Fire Engine purchases over the years.  Mike was the business owner of the Santa Rosa Fire Equipment company for many years.  Mike will be missed by all!

Mike is survived by his wife Jeanene, and his two daughters, Haley and Samantha, as well as his siblings.

Funeral arrangements and/or Celebration of Life is pending.
