After a planning and construction process of more than a decade, the City of Sebastopol officially marked the re-opening of the Willard Libby Playground, located on Pleasant Hill Road and Valentine Avenue with a small, socially-distanced ceremony on March 4, 2021.
See the Press Release for more info.
To celebrate the official launch the City of Sebastopol invites kids to participate in Slow Cat’s Treasure Hunt!
Slow Cat’s Treasure Hunt runs through April 29, 2021. Children are invited to look for Slow Cat stickers placed throughout the park and playground and mark sticker locations on a map. Participants are not to remove stickers or attempt to remove stickers. Download a map here or pick one up from the Little Free Library box at the playground or the City Hall breezeway.
Take your map through Libby Park and hunt for these Slow Cat stickers hidden around the park. A parent/guardian needs to fill out the waiver form on the reverse of the map and completed forms can be mailed in to City Hall at 7120 Bodega Ave., Sebastopol, CA 95472 or dropped off through the mail slot at City Hall. All entries must be received by April 30, 2021.
Slow Cat will mail you your own sticker and you’ll also have a chance to win a Slow Cat trophy. A drawing will be held from the entrants in each age group. The age groups are 5 and under, 6-9, and 10 and up. Winners in each age group will be announced in media and will receive a prize: a trophy donated by Patrick Amiot. Winners will be notified May 5, 2021. Trophies will be distributed at the end of May.
