PG&E: Not Shutting Off Power
Service Continuity – PG&E voluntarily implemented a moratorium on service disconnections for non-payment, effective immediately. This suspension will apply to both residential and commercial customers and will remain in effect until further notice. To further support customers who may be impacted by the pandemic, PG&E will offer its most flexible pay plans to customers who indicate either an impact or hardship as a result of COVID-19. PG&E will continue to monitor current events and identify opportunities to support our customers and communities.
Service Reliability – For all areas that are ordered to shelter in place PG&E is canceling all gas and electric planned service interruptions for the duration of the shelter in place order. Field activities that would not involve a planned outage would continue as scheduled.
For more information on what PG&E is doing, visit their
website.
Scam Alert: Unfortunately there are people that will take advantage of customers, particularly during vulnerable times. We want to make you aware of scams and what information PG&E will and will not request.

City Water Services Information
Moratorium on Water Shutoffs Has Expired
The City of Sebastopol Water Division has been operating under Governor Newsom’s
Executive Order N- 42-20 since March 4, 2020. The Executive Order placed a moratorium on water shutoffs due to non-payment until September 30, 2021. The order was then extended until December 31, 2021. The City is now resuming its pre-pandemic
Collection (Delinquent) Policy No. 93 beginning with the January 2023 billing cycle.
Customers with a past-due balance will need to pay their bill or set up a payment plan to avoid having their water service discontinued. We understand that some of our water customers are still undergoing financial hardships. We are committed to working with these customers to create a manageable payment plan.
For payment arrangements:
Contact City Hall at
707-823-7863 Monday – Thursday 8:00-12:00 or 1:00-5:00; or leave a message after hours and someone will call you back on the next business day; or email:
customerservice@cityofsebastopol.org.

CPUC Helping Consumers and Businesses Impacted by COVID-19
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has taken a range of actions to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on utility customers and small businesses. Some of those measures include reducing residential and business energy bills, suspending electric, natural gas, and water utility disconnections, suspending renewal requirements for key low-income programs, temporarily suspending wireless data caps and data coverage charges, and ensuring that critical wildfire safety preparation work continues. here for details on the measures the CPUC is taking. See the
California Public Utilities Commission website for more information.
