On April 21, 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom issued a Proclamation declaring a State of Emergency to exist in California due to severe drought conditions and called on Californians to reduce their water usage. On May 4, 2021, The Sebastopol City Council passed a resolution calling on all citizens to voluntarily reduce water use by 10%.
