Parklet Program

Parklets

According to the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO), parklets are public seating platforms that convert curbside parking spaces into vibrant community spaces. Also known as street seats or curbside seating, parklets are the product of a partnership between the city and local businesses, residents, or neighborhood associations.

The City of Sebastopol passed Resolution 6033 in April 2015 allowing for the establishment of parklets in the city. The resolution required the development of an application packet and design standards to implement a permanent parklet program. Permanent Parklet Program Interim Guidelines were developed in April 2021 to lay out the standards for permanent parklets and comply with Resolution 6033.
