Selection of 3rd Public Art Commission

When sufficient money accumulates in the dedicated Public Art Fund, the Public Arts Committee, (PAC) creates a Call for Proposals from artists. At that time, please spread the word! The greater number and quality of proposals received; the better Public Art installations will be.

The PAC reviews applications and selects finalists who display and discuss their proposals at a public meeting. Following the public meeting for the second commission, for example, sculpture maquetts (models) and information were on view at our Public Library. The community was invited to submit written and digital comments and votes which the Committee reviewed before recommending an artwork selection to the City Council.

Following approval, the artist, the PAC and City staff navigate engineering, permitting, scheduling, fabrication, installation, notification, promotion and finally, a public unveiling and celebration!
